The other day, I had just finished getting washed
when suddenly I heard a little voice behind me
and when I turned around...
GAH!
Yeah, yeah. Whatever, over-reacting MOM.
She rolled her eyes and said;
but then a little later...
PANIC!!!!
What else could I do?
I grabbed a washcloth and started scrubbing. Girlie wasn't too pleased.
And I cheerfully told her she had now truly learned one of life's great emotions:
REGRET!
And the other great truth of femalehood - you have to suffer to be beautiful. Or so my mother told me. I am not big on suffering, and therefore haven't achieved beauty... I am sure your girlie looked gorgeous. But she probably looked better after you scrubbed off the glitter glue! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteshe looked MUCH better after I scrubbed it off, Curtise! Man--I almost never suffer for beauty, thus, I am still a frump. Sigh.
DeleteI learned this lesson about glitter glue when I was 39!!! I didn't have a Karen around to share the remorse however. Adopt me!

Oh, the itch and burn. Well, no matter. You learned, and that's good enough :)
DeleteYou're just hilarious. You put me somewhere between remembering my own childhood disasters and looking foward to the horrors of motherhood xxxxxx

DeleteAw, bless her 'lil heart, just wait until she decides to cut her own bangs (says the woman who still hasn't learned that lesson herself).
ReplyDeleteOoo Vesta! I did that in school with the little kid scissors. I had this one cowlicky wing that would always flip out on the one side, and I hated it so much, I had to make it go away.
